CHURCH OF THE LUTHERAN CONFESSION OF MYANMAR
Greetings in the name of our Lord Christ Jesus!
First of all, I give my thanks to our heavenly Father for giving me such great joy and privileges to share with you all about the Church of the Lutheran Confession of Myanmar.
The Lord blessed us, we the CLCM have received such kind of support from the CLC, up to date was the Martin Luther Small Catechism in Teddim Chin, for the relief work, rebuild the burned head office and church registration fee so far. And also, we could complete the “Doctrinal Teachings” into Teddim translation worked, its pending to print out for the booklet.
We the CLCM are a small church and the growth is extremely slow. However the cause of poverty and communist government Junta has always trying to persecute but we are enjoying in the Lord. “The joy of the Lord is our strength”.
Therefore, growth and edification of Church and expansion of Church. At Kalaymoyo itself all our church office and building where we meet for worship are rented. We are praying for a permanent site of our own where we can function as servants of the living God. The Lord is faithful and gracious.
Please we are in need of your prayer for this need.
Thank you,
In Servant of Christ,
Pastor Thangkhankham Nethlai)
Secretary, CLCM
Report from CLCM
On behalf of the CLCM and on my own behalf extend our warmest welcome with open hearts and arms to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Your visit has been eagerly and expectantly awaited since the idea was mooted a few months back. We like to see the result of your visit and our discussion to bear a fruitful result if it is the perfect will of the Lord that our two churches establish a relationship to His glory and the growth and edification of the Church.
Total membership: 5630
Current Activities and Programs
The CLCM is primarily engaged in pastoral ministry, church planting and evangelism. We run three schools, which are something like boarding places for student where we are teaching them. The schools have a total of ten teachers. In Myanmar opening of private schools is not allowed by the government. But boarding places where students are kept, looked after and taught are allowed. We would like to increase the number of such boarding places, but our limited budget does not permit us to do so at the moment.
We are praying for the chance of sending out missionaries and evangelist to the unreached tribes in the hill areas of Burma and to the Burmese.
Upper Myanmar is primarily a tribal zone where the people are poorer than the rest of the country. As a Lutheran Church we are isolated and out of fellowship with other Lutheran bodies because of the area location of our Church. We also need the prayers and good-will of other brothers and sisters without which our growth is extremely slow.
Growth and edification of church and expansion of the church.
At Kalaymyo itself all our church office and building where we meet for worship are rented. We are praying for a permanent site of our own where we can function as servant of the living God.
Training of pastors
Emphasis of theological education and secular education
To undertake evangelism and missionary work.
A Home for Children. As a poverty-laden country, there are orphans and deserted children abundant in our area. When we see them every day we are filled with love and compassion. We are praying the Lord to give us the chance to help these helpless children in our midst.
Finally, while thanking for visiting us and welcoming you again in our midst, we would like to request you please to pray for us so that the Lord in all His graciousness bring us together and establish a long and lasting relationship and partnership for His glory and the growth and edification of His Church.
In Him,
Thangkhankham Neihlai,
Executive Secretary of CLCM
Study of Angels,part #5
Not to Worship
As we proceed with the references to individual Angels some of them seem very powerful and even magnificent. Twice in Revelation though John and you and I are warned not to worship them. In 19:9 it was the angel who said in v. 10 That the angel was not to be worshiped as he was a “fellow servant” like John. In 22:8 we read, “I John am he who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me.” But the angel reprimands John, v.9 “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren the prophets……….
Worship God.”
Individual Angels
Looking at the following references we see that The angels do mighty and varied tasks for our God.
- “a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice.”
- 7:2 “another angel ascend from the rising sun with the seal of the living
God and he called with a loud voice to the four angels, v.3 ‘Do Not harm
- 8:3 “And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden
censer…v.5 Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth…”
- 10:1f.”..another mighty angel coming down out of heaven…cloud…
rainbow…sun…fire.v.2…little scroll…sea…land …v.3..lion roaring…seven
thunders sounded …v.5…right hand to heaven and swore…v.9 take the
scroll…eat…”
